Enia & Ingerop à l'aéroport de bordeaux

Bordeaux Airport is launching its future main building, which will link the two historic terminals (halls A and B). With the aim of achieving the best European standards in terms of passenger experience, this is a central element of Bordeaux airport's strategy.

One of the challenges of this modernization is to simplify passenger circuits and reduce waiting times at the various stages of the journey, with a single point of entry for all destinations. Passengers will also be offered a wide range of shopping and entertainment outlets, in line with current consumer trends, and featuring local know-how. Finally, the project will meet the latest security requirements, while ensuring the flexibility and scalability of the facilities.

This new airport “processor”, designed by the ENIA architectural firm and the INGEROP engineering office, will offer a clear and efficient boarding process based on a continuous flow, guaranteeing a clear and simplified process for passengers. Located in an existing, waterproofed area of the airport, the project aims to achieve High Environmental Quality certification as a Bâtiment Durable (sustainable building), with an excellent level of certification. The infrastructure, with its sober architecture and high-tech features, symbolizes an exemplary commitment to offset carbon neutrality by 2030.

This transformation represents a major architectural and technical challenge, fitting into the heart of the existing structures.

The project is both reasoned and ambitious, particularly from an environmental point of view. The choice of low-carbon materials (wood and low-carbon concrete for the superstructures, reuse, or ORAÉ® glass) and the use of solar panels covering more than 3,000 m² of roof space, aim to significantly reduce the energy impact of this construction.

Work will start in 2026, with commissioning scheduled for 2028, without closing the airport.
